This was a two year conflict between The Dominion, The Federation, The Cardassian and The Klingons. It lasted from late 2373 to the late 2375. It consumed the entire Alpha Quadrant. The major losses were from The Federation, Cardassian and The Klingons Empires.
When the first contact with the Federation, it officially became a Cold War. Changeling infiltraters posed in important positions within major government powers. The Dominion was able to wipe out governments from the inside, which forced some to fight alongside them.
